Got a few questions...
Just got the Mesmerize about a month ago. Been a long time BB user and did alot with that OS. This is my first Android and think I'm hooked.
First, I want to get rid of the USCC apps that are a waste of space. Can this only be done with a root? Still hesitant about it but sure it will happen at some point.
When I did the 2.2 update I did not have any problems with the update itself but I also did not turn off the antivirus on the PC and have noticed a few bugs on the phone. Would this have an effect?? I.E. I work in a building with very limited cell service (doesn't matter the carrier) I have to reboot the phone after being there for a while to receive email again. Just doesn't want to connect. After that works good. No problems when not working.
And third, is there a good weather app that is similar to BerryWeather? Loved that app and want something like it.
Thanks in advance for any response. - 03-30-2011, 09:09 PM #2
This would need to root to take off the bloatware.
I don't think the PC would affect this. Was it an official build? Sometimes the signal strength can be different with a new build. You can try turning airplane mode on/off. It's quicker than rebooting and should get your data back up.When I did the 2.2 update I did not have any problems with the update itself but I also did not turn off the antivirus on the PC and have noticed a few bugs on the phone. I use Beautiful Widgets for weather and works well for me. There are quite a few free and paid weather apps in the market you can try. Hit the members favorites link in my signature and there should be a thread that will tell you what everyone else is using. And third, is there a good weather app that is similar to BerryWeather? Thanks. Didn't think about airplane mode. On my BB I would just turn off the radio and turn back on to fix. I will check out the rooting and the link.
