I've set up my Samsung account but can't back up phone or contacts because it will not sync. My facebook Twitter and Google have no issue with sync at all. Any ideas?

Did you check Accounts & Sync to see if it's turned on?.. Menu>settings >accounts & sync>Samsung account.

Mine wont sync either....everything else is synced just fine but just not the Samsung account...and mines on too...

After a factory reset my sync now works and can do back ups
