Finally Rooted

The device is running much faster now that I've removed all the carrier bloatware, now we just need S-Off and some custom ICS ROMs.

I have been trying all week to get my hero s rooted and everything I've opened hasn't been working!! Any suggestions? This is my first smart phone and first root. Any help would be fantastic!!!

I used htc Super Tool v3.

I couldn't find One Click, but I can verify the tool above works!

Were you running 2.3.4 gingerbread before you rooted? I'm afraid if I do something wrong I will brick my phone :S

I can verify supertool worked on my Hero S, but I can verify that its failed to root my wife's.

I want to root mine so i can get rid of the bloatware, but im a bit worried about turning my phone into a paperweight. I dont really want ICS at the moment, i just want to be able to get rid of the crap that us cellular forces you to keep so i can get the full use of the phone.
