Re: HTC Hero S SIM Card slot
You need a code from us cellular, tell them you are planning a vacation somewhere or some story. They will need a code from under your battery ( or dial some number I do not remember it, just look up how to unlock it and you will find more info) It's really just a modified gsm phone to work on cdma. So It's the same unlock procedure as a gsm. The only reason It's locked is so most people can't do what you are wanting to do.

Re: HTC Hero S SIM Card slot
Yes you will need it, call 611 give them your story for needing the carrier unlock code and be persistent about it and ask for directions. There is some unlocking services online but I have never used them. I once unlocked a phone and It's simple you just need the unique code and proper directions to unlock. It is your phone don't take no for a answer. If you get your code be careful to unlock it properly because the phone I unlocked (samsung) if you messed up 3 times It's permanenly locked.
