Are those pictures in the article the press shots? I feel like I've seen them before. Hell, my photoshopped April Fools Day picture has similar pictures. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get out of this article.

Considering Phil's post in another thread, I'm not sure I buy this one. But I want to be disappointed in my thinking that this is wrong.

Well one thought I had was if what Phil said is true about Verizon being unsure whether they will release the phone, maybe they are releasing stuff about the phone here and there to gauge the interest in the phone. If they like the interest it gets, they release the phone? But who knows...

Yeah, I dunno. But my Windows Mobile Touch Pro 2 keeps getting better and better versions of Android and it has a great keyboard. Maybe I'll just keep it forever, haha.

Lemme put it this way: This "new" hands-on video was from CES. In January. And is not new in any way.

This phone's killing me.....If it doesn't come out I might buy a VZW TP2 and be done with it...I don't want another Motorola Droid phone with a crappy keyboard that they cant seem to get right no matter how large they make the damn thing. (i'm looking at you Droid 3.....) I don't want Motorola's impenetrable bootloader either. UGH.

I think these expectations of timely reporting are the faults of Phil and the rest of the AC crew. If you guys didn't work hard to keep us up to date on the latest news, we wouldn't have these expectations that other sites should too.

Ha! Totally, the first hands on video i saw and i was like...yeah that's my next phone.

That said, I'm glad AC does these, we would have never even had a glimpse of knowing how cool this phone is otherwise so I have no qualms there.

So I guess if we're gonna be screwed on the Merge...anyone have an inkling if there is any chance the SE Xperia Pro is gonna have a CDMA version on Verizon like they have the Play??

That keyboard isn't as good as the Merge...but its a darn sight better than Droid #

I hope so, but i suspect they're going to test the waters with the Play before committing to carrying more SE handsets....we all know how conservative Verizon is when it comes to trying new things.

The bootloader unlock only applies to non carrier branded devices. Xperia Play and any other Verizon SE phones will most likely remain encrypted.

Have we really reached the point where no one makes slider QWERTY phones anymore?? That they are all black slabs and we get no choices aside from the Droid# if we want a stinking keyboard?? Because all I've seen (for Verizon) is the Merge and possibly the Xperia Pro.

Where is Verizon's Epic 4G knockoff?? Or any of the (admittedly not stellar spec'd) Samsung keyboard devices for ATT? I mean c'mon Verizon!!!

(I hate that they are the only ones with decent coverage where I live...

I know...The only android phone on VZW with a keyboard that's not a Droid is the Ally and that's just "mehhh" all over.

Not to mention it's keyboard is nothing special either...in fact it's potentially worse than the Droid # because of the way the spacebar is mixed in with the letters....do. not. want.

Any if you look at , you'll see that hasn't stopped people from running a story. Judging from the CES video release in March and this, I've reached my conclusion on pocketnow and per the news results, apparently some others too.

My previous point remains. You guys do your research and have your s*** together. If you look at those guys that are running this story, it's clear they aren't doing theirs. And it's why I'm here.

Unrelated to this topic, I think we need a facepalm smiley.
