merge has terrible battery life only 6.5 hrs of standby time. the 94% doesn't mean 94% or your battery, it means 94% of what has been used. so if your battery is at about 50%, then your live wallpaper has used 47% of your battery. live wallpapers use up the battery fast. click menu/wallpaper and change to a static wallpaper.

When you have the battery use page pulled up tap the live wallpaper and force close it. I think that's what I did. As far as the battery life. I'm on day 2 and I had topped it off at noon today then played with the phone, downloading apps, messing with settings for about 4 hours straight. At 10th pm I was down to 20% I don't think that's too bad.
Make display settings a shortcut on your home screen and turn the screen down low when indoors as the automatic setting doesn't dim it down as far as it could.Thanked by: - 05-30-2011, 07:02 AM #5

I myself have had pretty good battery life, currently sitting at 50% with an up time of a little over 13 hours, but then again i wouldnt consider myself a power user. a few calls in the am, around a 100 texts some gaming, some tapatalk forums browsing and when im at home im always connected to my wifi.

Some of the merges are needing an extra step after changing to a htc wallpaper do a batt pull and then the live paper will shut down. Mine did not need this step but a friend of mine got this phone and his would not shut the live paper down without a batt pull FYI.

So...... Has anyone else had issues when taking pictures in "low light" situations (needing a flash)? Most of mine have come across with a horrible white wash. However my girlfriend can be right next to me and take nearly the same picture with her Desire and it comes out just fine.
I just stopped back into the reseller today to see if they had anything to say, we called US Cellular Tech Services and they didn't come anything. I can't believe that the exposure controls are that much different from the Desire, but who knows.... - 06-02-2011, 07:15 AM #10
Hey , im not sure if I have the right person or not ..
but are you gmmech that use to be on a site called BerryAddict.com ?
if so , this is bobby ! i ran that site .
I was browsing around looking for ROOT for the HTC Merge and remembered your screen name .
I have another site now , TeamUSCellular.com and its doing quite well .
I also have the Merge , Mesmerize and Desire all from USCellular .
loving the Merge , I hope it gets perm. root soon as i love to load custom roms and hacks onto my Desire and Mesmerize . My only complaint with the Merge is the weight of the device .. but then again , i think it makes it feel like its built like a tank (or at least i hope it is . lol ) - 06-03-2011, 05:59 AM #11

Acting strange.... pushed home button and many times it got to white htc screen, then loads wallpaper.... a box pops up and says loading then finally everything falls into place but the whole process takes 10-15 seconds after pushing home button...
Installed adw launcher and it was acting laggy so I uninstalled it and now everything is laggy...
Any thoughts?

My thoughts were it was crashing cuz of memory too (or lack there of...) do you think installing and uninstalling adw had any part in this?
This is why I should be able to reflash everything on my phone.... not just downloaded apps....
but dispite the controversy I stuck with htc....
and then....
the day before I picked up the merge....
htc made its big anouncement....
Which makes me stand by them again...
The hope in this device will join the list.....
The list of phones free to fly the open world....
To the end of the galaxy and back...
It gave me faith....
That htc will stick to its roots!
And... love...
For a company finally making the RIGHT choice....
To stand by its customers.....
Even though we... as moders.... are the minority here....
And most of all...
It gave me..... STREGTH..... To fight another day....
