Question Root to newer version of Android?

I have an old Droid Charge by Samsung on the Verizon network (No SIM card) I would like to update the OS to Android 4.0.3 or newer so that I can run Clash of Clans on it. Wi-fi only obviously. Is this possible, and what do I need to do to get it done?

There is a build of Cyanogenmod 10.1. You would have to follow this guide on Rooting your Droid Charge in order to flash ROMs.
I am a developer for HTC devices. If you ever need help with one, let me know.
