Has there been any word as to weather we might be able to disable the touchWIZ launcher like the methods described in this video?

I would love to drop the add on launcher and run the Vanilla Froyo for visual clarity and familiarity, as well as perhaps a little speed boost.

You can't turn off TouchWiz in its entirety, but you can switch out the launcher for any one you like. That's what I've done on TW 3.0.

ragnarokx: Which launcher are you using? i've used launcher pro, and I quit using it because it seemed to bog down my phone, lagging here and there. i got really annoyed with it and just reverted back to using the stock UI (sense 2.0, on the droid incredible).

i'm wondering how smoothly something like launcher pro would do on the droid charge

I'm thinking about trying the SPB Shell 3D app on the Charge myself. don't know if that would end up lagging it though

On the fascinate, we can actually delete touchwiz (rooted), hope we can on the charge.

With root access, deleting the TW launcher should also be possible on the Charge. Without root access, you can still switch to a different launcher.

I'm using ADW EX - very fast launcher with a lot of features. Only downside is that it's not free.
