    30+ hours?! wow!

I hope your not pulling our chains. Is your screen brightness on Automatic?
Not on Automatic, got it on about 75 percent
To be fair and I think you would agree that you were on WiFi a HUGE amount of time and barely hard the screen on for more then 1 hour so I wouldn't exactly call that active view on battery life. Thanks for giving us a general idea but battery life for most is more relevant when we run on 4G not everyone had ability to sit at WiFi on home / work to save on battery.
Fair points, I did have at least 4 hours screen time though. I spent hours setting it up
You had it since 4 days? Forgive me if I didn't notice, but did you mention you had the phone on another thread a few days ago? If not, was it some kind of gag order you were under?
For 30+ hours, were you surfing via WIFI? 3G? 4G? Heavy phone calls? Streaming movies? Or was it very light usage?

    Thanks!
Gag order, I been mentioning it on androidforums a bit past few days only.

First screen shot is without service, but with radios on still. Have one from just a bit ago below
For those wondering about the notification LED, this video by CNETTV (youtube.com/watch?v=waaX-5igwXg) shows the back LED flashing (1:36). If it's not a glare, it also looks like there is a front notification LED in the right side of the grill (seen in the first couple seconds of the video).

Can anyone with the device confirm the location of the front notification LED, if that is indeed the case? Also what LED colors there are? TIA!
Right side of front of phone, left side on back. I'm colorblind so can't help there, lol
Actually, if you pull the sim from the thunderbolt, it can last for several days. Notice there is no mobile signal here. Very little screen on time. Also no real way to determine the type of phone from the screen shot. In fact, I notice the dna's pull down is clear where yours is not. I would love to think that new technology has emerged to make battery better, but I am not aware of any, and if there was, htc would have boasted about it. The only unknown is how the SoC effects battery on Verizon.
Not sure what are getting at? This is definitely screen shot from DROID DNA
    Couple more from today

If anyone really had doubts you can just post SS of the "About" page I am sure details in there prove the device is DNA.

Battery life isn't looking so hot with a signal...

With signal and average NON power user I would estimate from chip set we shall see roughly 7-10 hours of active use. Less if you have have brightness at full with Bluetooth / GPS on obviously. So no at 5inch at this high ppi we will not see battery life like Razr HD Maxx or GS III but these are NOT comparable screens when we consider the type and quality as well as size. It it easy to HOPE it is going to compete but this phone is going to be just like the Rezound on new build with more current software but is still going to be a battery hog. So yes 2500 range battery would of been great but we didn't get it. HTC leans more towards high quality processors and displays and leaves us desiring more for battery life.

Will the 'Developer' edition come with expandable memory or an increase in memory size? I so badly want to throw money at HTC but 11GB is undoable.

Phil, what about the Amazon home page that I saw in the video. Is that something easily deleted or is always going to be present? Nothing against Amazon but it looks like Verizon might be taking things beyond the app drawer and forcing us to swipe past it on a daily basis.

Does this phone also offer full USB host support like the one x+ ??? The ability to hook up a mass storage device would go a long ways towards solving this 11 gig fiasco :-(

People are so quick to discount the battery life of the DNA. These people show their tech-unsaviness by ignoring advancements in technology. To all of them, I LOL @ you. Cheers.
Yet HTC themselves, in their documentation, cite an expectation of only about 12 hours of power in regular use. I can sometimes get that from my Bolt on a really good day. (I'm tempted to add "when the phone's turned off" or "if I'm using somebody else's phone" for the laugh, but I won't :-D)

Laughing at skeptics, tapping your heels together and wish-wish-wishing doesn't make these early reports represent any real significant advancement. IMO it'll take a couple of WEEKS before we see how this thing is doing with battery life. And then we'll have to take yet another look as these batteries start to AGE....

What I find interesting is that with a 2020mAh battery, they rate it for 12.8 hours of usage. Whereas the MAXX HD has a 3300mAh battery and they rate it for 32 hours. How can a battery only 63% larger get 1.5x more usage time?

Yes people forget the processor uses technology from tatooine, the screen has the latest from vulptar, and the battery is uranium! Lol. What advancements do you think have been made since the last phone released? There is no way in hell this thing is hanging with the Maxx, it could and should have. It is a shame and a sham!

Well, it actually doesn't have to "hang" with the HD Maxx...it just has to hang with the S3 and HD...not sure it can/will, but comparing it to a phone that's 150% more expensive seems unfair.

If you're comparing to the similarly priced non-HD Maxx, then a buyer has to weigh superior screen and processor with battery life; doesn't make it a "sham", just a choice...

Can you talk more about the LCD3 display, how does.it compare to the AT&T GN2. What's the likelihood we will see.a AT&T variant for the Holidays.
It's like the HOX display. Better than the GN2, I think, especially with this many pixels.

Have no idea if this design will hit other carriers officially ...
