Getting it from the US...

So, a friend would be visiting NY in sometime. And since as we all know it is a globally unlocked phone, can she just pick one from the US. What is the price, off contract?

Is it contract-linked BTW?

Personally, I would wait for the international version. Might get sd card and who knows what.

You can buy it full retail for $599; that's what I did.

She will not be able to use it. You need a Verizon SIM card to activate the phone. The phone has to be activated before someone else can use it or the phone will stay locked.

The only hope there is, is that this is a globally unlocked phone and you might be able to get away with it, but I highly doubt it, you should call your local Verizon store.
