SYNCing with Ford (text messaging)

Has anyone tried to do texting with a DNA and the Ford SYNC system? From the compatibility chart they have on their website, the DNA isn't even listed. Probably too new.

I have a 2012 Ford Edge and have been trying to get this to work and out of the blue today I received a text. It was the last text my wife sent me from earlier in the day. When I was stopped, I was able to respond to the text with one of the pre-built text messages in Sync, but I never received any other texts sent to me. Very strange. I will track it and see what else happens.
