Default Bluetooth Phone Headset Bad Quality

Well I have tried three Bluetooth devices. My Motola H720 which I had used for two years with my DroidX, people said they could not hear me or could not understand me. Got a Plantroics Legend and while marginally better for those I'm calling worse on my end. Even my Motorola Roadster in the car is unusable, had a guy simply tell me he was holding the phone up to his ear as hard as he could and he could not hear nor understand me, although streaming Tunein Radio or Pandora sounds just fine.

Still under 30 days so going to take it in and see if I can get a trade in else Bluetooth phone is unusable and that is a REAL deal killer. I need it for when I'm in my office and I travel in the car a LOT.

Hey stinger, I hear your frustration with trying to find the perfect bluetooth to use with your new DNA phone. I have the same phone, in fact, my last three phones have been HTC devices(just my preference with Sense and it's integration with social media & cloud apps). Now I can only speak on the bluetooth earpiece that I've owned/used with all three phones. I currently have the BlueAnt Q2 earpiece and I must say that I've been pleased with it for years. Not only does it work perfectly for voice conversations, it also has the ability for me to answer my calls without picking up or even looking at my phone. Another great feature is that when I'm using the navigation feature/Google Maps, I can hear my turn by turn directions read back to me in the headset, again never have to even look at my phone while driving. The headset is fulling integrated into Google Now also. Hope this helps.

Had problems with with my old Plantronics Voyager Pro. Calls had poor connection/cutting in and out when I had the phone clipped to my belt but worked perfectly if I brought it up to my chest. Got the new Plantronics Voyager Legend and the same thing happened. Returned it and brought the Jawbone era and it works perfectly. My wife had the Motorola Elite Flip and she sounded horrible and I kept hearing my own echo. She also got the Era and now we're both happy.

There is another thread on this subject that advises users having this problem to uncheck the "message access" box under the Advanced Bluetooth settings. I have just done this myself whereas I too was having horrible BT connectivity with both headsets and hands-free in my vehicle. Inconclusive thus far but others say it works.

It was unchecked. Could not use all this week while traveling. Tried this afternoon with the in car Roadster and the person on the other end could not hear me well enough to even get my name. Stopped by the Verizon store and did an instore call to the girl working there. She sound bad on mine but claimed I sounded good to her. I think she finally did hear some "background noise". She call and put me on with tech support. I could hardly hear them on my end they claim it was ok on their end. Unpaired everything but the Plantonics and it still sounded bad to me. They call HTC tech support and reported it, Verizon claimed no knowledge of any phone bluetooth problems. Verizon called back saying they varified all my devices are compatible and I am to call them back in the morning from a land line so they can check some setting on the DNA, if doesn't clear up will have to ship out a replacement phone.
