Nothing wrong with being excited about getting gingerbread for the phone. This will be my first phone to get the official gb update. Anyway I don't have the update yet, North Carolina. I've checked like 3 times already I can't wait.

You'll be notified via Push to quote Verizon Support on Twitter.

And if you want root you probably don't want to accept the OTA. XDA has a sticky in their forums about not using the RUU or the OTA if you want root.

I read one article claiming that the push will go out to handsets over a period of 7 days once available. So, no you may not get a push notification right away. Some people will probably get it before others.

A VZW rep said on Twitter the push is based on your phone's ID number, so it probably isn't regional...

I just hope it works. I read some posts that other handsets with 2.3.4 are having reboot issues. Keep your fingers crossed.
