camera ratio setting

Has anyone turned off the widescreen setting in the camera? this would set it to 4:3 ration instead of 5:3

Basically it makes it so it doesn't completely fill the screen with the image. I think when the widescreen is on its actually taking pictures in 6mp and when you turn it off its 8mp

Without widescreen on the size of the pictures is much better and i can take 4000 less pictures than with widescreen on

I've never thought to play around with this. Now that you've got my curiosity up I'll have to play around with this tonight.

the widescreen pictures is 3264 x 1952 while the non widescreen is 3264 x 2448

but personally i like widescreen because it looks better on the phone having the image take up the entire screen. and i have a widescreen monitor so it looks better on the computer.

as far as actual quality difference...i don't see any discernible difference. i'm sure a photographer could see something but for me the 6mp (non-widescreen) is just fine. with that i have 4000 more pictures i can take and it looks better on the 4" screen.
