You could really do yourself a favor and try

It can sort pictures by the ACTUAL date taken and not just the modified date (but it can do that too). Also, since you have so many pictures, you will definitely benefit from the organizational capabilities like tags, ratings, albums and smart albums. It can even password protect your images if you want.
