No notification sound

Okay, here's the deal.

I'm running Team Psycho's CM 10.1 ROM for Android 4.2.1

I flashed properly, and everything works fine, except for ONE thing.

I get no notification sound.

Don't tell me to change my profile to default or whatever, or change the volume settings, because I've done it.

Just please give me ideas or tips on how to get a notification sound back when receiving texts.

P.S. When I choose a new notification sound, I CAN HEAR IT. Just not when receiving a text.

I had the same problem with CM7 on a Motorola Milestone.
I also tried profile, moving the audio files, etc.

What solved it was to go into Messaging, tap the Menu button, then Settings > Notification Settings > Select ringtone > Default ringtone

Apparently you need to set the ringtone from within the Messaging app.
See if that works.

Make sure you select the sound volume when you select the new ringtone. That's what did it for me.

select the messaging app of which you are not getting the notification sound and go to the setting . Choose the new notification ringtone and press the volume up key at the same time and tap on the selected ringtone 3-4 time until the volume goes highest ...thats it your problem is solved. try it.
