HELP!!!!!!!! Does anybody know how to bypass activation screen for Incredible 2

I am deployed in Afghanistan. I contacted customer support and they tried everything to activate my phone. My sim card was active from my droid 2 global. They said I had to wait. There has got to be a way around it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you want just to skip the setup try tapping top left corner then top right corner then bottom right then bottom left of the screen.

You don't have 2 wait u can bypass activation the way the person on top said, it is common that ppl don't do it the correct way and as a former rep for Verizon I am pretty sure ur doing it wrong (happens to everyone). what u should do is clockwise top left corner, top right corner, bottom right corner, and bottom left corner but is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT DO NOT TOUCH OUTSIDE OF THE SCREEN, do not touch the black areas outside the screen make sure u touch only the screen. Hope it helps.

Almost forgot u have to do this when u have the Android mascot on the screen, it usually says touch Android to begin or something like that, just don't touch the Android only the screen corners. Also this is the very first screen on new phones

i have seen what you are talking about. The inc 2 doesnt get that screen. It goes to the lock screen, then to the select language screen, then the dial *228 screen.

If I'm not mistaken u can't dial *228 right ? I knw I can't from my thunderbolt bcase it will mess up my sim card. I'm assuming is the same thing with 3g sim cards right?

That is correct. Because I am out of the country. I have went through the whole manual activation and one of the fields required to edit can only be done OTA and is impossible from here.

I'm pretty sure u don't need OTA fr manual programming sorry I can't tell u what steps 2 follow but I don't knw it by memory. I suggest call again a cst svc rep and ask them that u want 2 do a "quick programming" they have a list with the steps if u already did that and still requires OTA activation then sorry more than likely u sol have to wait until u come back to the states :/

i tried that to. They said without being able to input my MDN it couldnt work. The MDN field is not editable. The rep was honest and said it is a new phone and a lot of work arounds are still unknown.

anyways what I was saying is that I suggest 2 call a cst svc rep again and ask fr a quick programming they should have some steps 2 follow and 2 my understanding doesn't require OTA activation. Try that and if not u will have to wait until u return to the country :/

On the MDN field what do u see? A bunch of zeros or a random number? Cause it should have ur phone num and that's weird it should let u edit it.

It has random numbers. I havent read anything on the incredible 2 that says its editable. There is a post that shows it not being able to change.

Yes and its not as simple as you think it is...
I just purchased today from some D-bag on craigslist a Dinc2 to take to simple mobile... not knowing that i will only be able to use EVDO from them not 3G...
in any case the point is to get a phone number NAM set and a different area code.

for this feat you will need:
>a data cable:
look in the box ur phone came in or something... or borrow one.
>the HTCDIAG drivers:

>a working computer:
i dunno just get one, everyone has one nowadays...
>CDMA workshop FULL:
either cracked and stuff should do, google it and find a torrent or something.

now follow these simple steps:

-during activation go to emergency to pull the dialer and dial ##3424## and SEND to set the phone to HTCDIAG mode.

-once in diag mode, plug the phone in and set up the downloaded drivers.

-check under device manager and com ports to see which com port ur phone is using.

-run CDMA workshop.

-set up for the COM port ur phone is using and unlock with SPC 000000.

-after that i believe the field partaining to watever ur phone number is currently should be 0000005389, change it to any phone number, even ur google number will do even in NAM2.

-set the MCC to another international code like... 452? i mean i used 452 so watever.

-now set CDMA workshop to write.

-reboot phone and that should bypass the activation, it did it for me.

also notes, antiviruses will register most cracked versions of CDMA workshop as malware... its not, most people CANT disable their antiviruses like AVG, so you can also opt for torrents like CDMA tools that contain QPST, now QPST works just as good too, you just gotta run the configuration to select the COM port your phone is set to and run the programming to set ur NAM and MCC.
QPST is not a walk in the park but if u pay close attention it works a lot like CDMA workshop, its got an SPC button with the 000000 code preset and all, gotta make sure u read from phone before u do anything else. once u get that all setup reboot the phone and it should bypass that *228 screen.
also for you since ure overseas and all that crazy stuff, try to call verizon back for an unlock code, go to menu settings>security>disable sim card security will ask you for the unlock code which verizon will provide, and now just run with it see how it works for ya. it should work.
also if u wanna set it to GSM mode go to settings>call and its gotta have an option for switching to GSM mode, make sure u switch to GSM dual or watever. should get the job done.

everyone else in america trying to get this down, it worked for me with simple mobile, no 3G available for this phone because of the band it operates on, AT&T should work with the 3G. good luck everyone, PM me with questions.

AND BAM write that name down for the guy who gets what he wants when he wants from HTC phones at any point in TIME! excepting for faster internet on his phone...
buy them on CL or ebay, flash them/unlock them, root them, hack them and get them GOING!
also if anyone needs unlock codes, use HTCIMEIUNLOCK
theyre not paying me for this ad but theyre secure and within 15 mins u will get that unlock code.
they also have an IMEI checker to see if ur IMEI can be given a code. so u dont waste ur money.

Another way to bypass 'Activate Your Phone' is to let it try and dial
its *228 for Activation, then you hit "1" on the keypad wait a second, then terminate the call.
Do it 4 times, and BINGO, it just goes to NEXT instead of activate.
