Default What plan are you using for your Incredible?

Just wondering what most people are getting for their plans?

I'm debating keeping my current 1500 TXTs or knocking it down to one of the lower levels as I'm probably not gonna be texting as much. I currently have the 450 minute plan which is more than enough.

Also, what's the deal with insurance? I hear some people only getting the $1.99 extended Warranty or nothing at all. Just wanna hear some opinions, thanks.

Default Google Voice = free SMS

I plan to drop my text plan when I pick up my Incredible. Google Voice offers free SMS and you can replace your Messaging app with it. Worked really well on the Droid I had for 4 weeks.

And yes, it receives free SMS as well as long as they are sent to your Google Voice number.

have they updated the app so that texts are pushed to the device?
when i had it, they would only be pulled, which really doesn't work for me regarding texts.

Kept all my existing features except for the personal data plan. 500 out txt/unlimited in, insurance, etc.

Yes, texts are pushed, worked perfectly for me. I do think that was a recent update. Again, I used Google Voice as my only SMS app for three weeks and didn't miss the normal messaging app at all, especially when I figured out you could use Google Voice as the default messaging app (e.g., when you tap a contact's picture to get the submenu of contact options iike call, gmail, facebook, etc., you can make the google voice icon show up there instead of the messaging app and it takes you right to messaging. Pretty awesome.).

you will want to make sure that you wont need more than the 500 outside of vzw, because your $15 txt plan is now gone. So if you try to save money, but end up finding out it wont work you will cost yourself the extra $5/mtg.

Decided to keep everything the same and just add the data plan, I'll see how it goes after the 1st month.

If you buy the Incredible out-right, is it possible for VZW to configure a pay as you go plan? Or are you still stuck with the month to month plan, just sans the two year commitment?
