From BB to Incredible (Have issues, need help, advice)
Does anyone know if I can take the sd card I have in my storm and access the info on it in a incredible, or any android phone?
I do not have any apps on it only movies, music and pictures. - 04-16-2010, 05:33 AM #2
yes, it should be no problem, but since the screens are different resolutions, videos and pictures will not look their best.
what i would do in your case though, is copy everything off the card and onto your computer, pop the card into the incredible and let the OS format it the way it wants, then copy it all back. - 04-16-2010, 05:41 AM

I really like how this phone is shaping up I hope there isn't any stupid hardware issues or a battery that doesn't last

My first post in android!!!!
I too am thinking about making the jump from the Storm 2 to the Incredible. my biggest concern is push email, lack of Blackberry Messenger, and receiving facebook notifications. Can anyone shed some light on how well Android can handle these things? is the Gmail push on Android comparable to Blackberry?
thanks in advance! - 04-16-2010, 02:41 PM #8
gmail is push.
bbm will be missed, especially if you use it a lot and can't text or use google talk instead
the facebook app in some ways is better on blackberry, but is a decent application. hopefully someday we'll get something on par with the iphone app.
for facebook notifications, i have facebook email me, and that works best for me. - 04-16-2010, 02:51 PM

I feel that with threaded messaging I will not miss bbm. I really don't need a status and the icons are not that important....plus gaining a solid os and a great browser will more than make up for lack of push email support and no bbm.

there is push email via gmail and exchange, the only polled email is through the regular email app.
yea, with unlimited texts being how cheap they are, the only times i really miss bbm is when i want to talk to people who are overseas or out of the country in general - 04-20-2010, 02:44 AM #11

the trick is to convince you BB friends to install the google talk app on their phone

BBM is my issue too. Luckily I have gmail and I can get my wife to install it on her BB so we can still talk for free and not use text messages as I don't want to pay for it.
I'm probably switching my cards from my storm to the Incredible as I want more space but don't really want to pay for a new memory card. - 04-20-2010, 09:55 AM #15

On April 29th I will be leaving cell phone purgatory hell. The Storm 1 has been the worst consumer electronic experience of my life. I actually had to waste $15 on a new battery a couple weeks ago. It never lasted a day and the last month had been draining after a few hours. The worst 15 months ever. Thankfully HTC is going to fix this for me. I can't wait to get my new phone.

I have a Storm2 and I think I can get by without BBM... but I use the Storm2 cradle for charging at night and then also use it as my alarm clock. Will there be such a cradle/clock option on this phone?
- 04-20-2010, 11:58 AM #18
It should have a desk clock app but not sure if/when a dock will be available. The multimedia and car docks were a major selling point for me in getting the Droid so maybe they'll have some sort of docks for the Incredible

To the OP: I moved from a S2 to the Eris (now dead) and I found it best to copy the contents off and re format the card. BB puts alot of file structure stuff that Android will recognize but mine ran a little better after do the above steps.

I like Blackberry Messenger, I can tell when my message is on their phone, and I can tell when they have read the message I sent. That and email push is awesome (I almost said incredible but that would be inappropriate here). My wife has the Eris and I have the Storm 1 and I am now eligible for an upgrade. Does Droid (Incredible) have the same ability to show the difference between a "received" message and a "read" message?
