Be careful though, this was also reported when the Droid came out and some users say that it actually ruined there Droid. So use with caution.

I would think that the wattage would be different and could send the wrong watts to your battery. Unless lithium is just special like that..

Anyone have any input on whether my old Storm accessories could damage my Incredible?
- 05-01-2010, 08:35 PM #12
People where having problems with some of the super cheap ones from ebay. I used the storm charger on my droid for 6 months it's fine. Also I've never heard of the charger "ruining" the droid it was just doing strange things to the screen while it was plugged in. Also there where a few reports of the phone calling people on it's own...lol

all the same in our house, except our bluetooth wall charger only works on the bluetooth.

The fact that the Storm 1 chargers work on the Incredible was reported in this forum a couple days ago. Several people commented that they tried it with no problems.

i know they will, but my point is they have had their style of connector on their devices for quite some time now. now consumers will have to have both types of connections if they continue to use older devices along with newer ones.

I've found that the Incredible will charge on any micro usb charger. The Droid I had for a week before returning it was very picky and only recharged on it's own (and my Motorola bluetooth headset) recharger.

The standard Blackberry Storm charger shows its output 5V at 700mA, but the Droid charger shows 5V at 1000mA.
I am not an electrical person, but something tells me that they are different, even though the ends are the same. I charged my battery up with the storm charger initially, and have used the Incredible one ever since.
This might be a placebo effect, but I have noticed that the charge seems to be 'different' when using the two chargers. I noticed the charge doesn't seem to last as long after using the Storm charger, but ever since I used the Incredible one, it has been longer in usage. Then again, it could be beause the battery is getting broken in... - 05-03-2010, 11:54 AM #20

**blackberry charger killed my Incredible**
Ordered my Dinc and got it last Tues. Asked Verizon store if I could use my blackberry chargers. The said yes without hesitation so i was glad to save a few bucks.
I used a blackberry wall charger the second day and after that nothing but problems. by sat., it was holding a charger for 3 hrs max. On sun. it died. Wouldnt' charge or turn on. Took it back to V store. Manager got it to come on and then it died for good.
Now i have to wait all ove again. I know others who have had issues after using their BB charger on their phone.
That's my experience and the tech at Verizon said it was my charger. Something about a difference in the prongs in the connector. I only know to use HTC chargers on my next Dinc.
hope it helps someone.Thanked by: - 06-10-2010, 10:57 PM #23
why are you spreading you FUD over here now. You phone or the charger was a dud. the BB chargers work perfectly fine

Usb, Mini-USB, and Micro-Usb are form factor and specifications standards. They all push the same numbers with a different connector. .5 Amps with the usb to computer only and 1 Amp straight from the wall.
Watts = Voltage (in volts) x Amps
USB spec allows 4.75 to 5.25 volts.
So now, it won't mess up your battery. The Storm has cleared to an Incredible day! I ate an IceCream Sandwhich. Still needed JellyBeans. ;-)NEXUS!!!!!!
