It means that you have the USB debugging enabled on your handset. Go to menu->settings->applications->development and uncheck USB debugging entry.

or if you are plugged in, and the notification appears up top, pull down the notification bar, and the alert will say "click to disable usb debugging", click it and it will automatically bring you to the menu. You don't need it to be on unless you are using your phone to develop and debug apps. On rooted devices, you will have that on to use adb shell to do some commands on your phone through your computer.

Hi,

I tried that and it does turn off the USB debugging - But when I plug the USB cable back into my phone it automatically enables USB debugging (as in it checks the box without me doing it).

Any thought as to why?

My phone Captivate - is rooted.

thx,

MJ
