Well, I called a friend of mine that works at Verizon. He said he will grab a phone and look into it but I checked all my storage and he said "you are not even close to having full storage........".
Had to do a hard reboot under the Privacy setting. Fortunately I have my phone up and running agian in less than 15 minutes with all my stuff back and looking the same before the reboot minus the phone storage indicator at the top.
This issue basically bricks your phone. I couldnt do anything. Send, or get emails, texts....etc. - 05-06-2010, 04:49 PM #6
Now I have 2 of the notifactions at the top of my screen and my memory says I have almost all of it still available. This sucks.

would you guys mind listing what it says under "phone memory" and "internal phone storage"
might help troubleshoot - 05-06-2010, 05:47 PM #8
I did a factory reset, not enough time to mess with it.

Also would be nice to know if you have been using an external SDcard as well.

I have been using an 8gb external card as well and still got the notice. There was a icon at the top and when you pulled the screen down, it said "Phone internal memory getting low", then the other icon said "Phone internal memory full, please delete files to acquire more space".....or something close to that.
I looked under the settings and my SD card still had over 6 gb of memory left and my internal was around the same.
when I tried to text..it said "phone memory full, please delete files to free up space"....same with email. Basically bricked the phone. Called Verizon and they said "do a reboot"
Hey Socalguy....did you by chance install swype on your phone recently before you got that notice?Last edited by arnmcrmn; 05-06-2010 at 08:30 PM.

Perhaps the space allocated to text messages is full? Did you try deleting some text messages to see if the message will go away?

The Storm has cleared to an Incredible day! I ate an IceCream Sandwhich. Still needed JellyBeans. ;-)NEXUS!!!!!! - 05-09-2010, 11:34 PM #18
This is happening on my phone now. Phone states that its "Low on space" and "Phone storage space is getting low." Occational errors are now starting to pop up. Clearly from the usage below thats not the real problem. What's going on?
My usage is:
SD Card:
13.85GB free of 14.93GB
Internal phone storage:
6.42GB free of 6.60GB
Phone memory:
622MB free of 748MB - 05-10-2010, 01:37 AM #19
that is rather odd. have you guys who have encoutered the error installed any apps before this happened?

Ok I got the same errors again and only 4 days after doing a hard reset. Then my phone stopped letting me look at emails and SMS's, it kept giving me odd errors, I called Verizon and they were not aware of the problem so they actually went on this forum while we were talking and I had them look at theis thread. He then went ahead and filed a report with HTC and said he will get back to me as soon as he hears from them. In the meantime I had to do a hard reset for the 2nd time.

Having same issues with mine. out of curiousity how much memory is your HTC mail taking? Go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications> (give it a few seconds to compute sizes) click on Menu and Sort by size. What's on top? My biggest app is HTC Mail. Previously the "Low on space" notification came on at around 116Mb and "phone memory full" came on around 125 Mb at which time it was useless. Did hard reset and first notification came on after one day, currently reading 119Mb and climbing. 4 email accounts, 3 imap and one gmail. imap set for last 14 days of mail. maybe 50 texts messages, no task killers or apps downloaded. 8 gig sd card, formatted. Deleting attachments seem to help keep it from going up but i've only downloaded 39 Mb worth of attachments. there is no way all the emails add up to 119Mb. Right now i can use the phone for calls and browsing but cannot compose emails or texts, it fc the app and senseui, reboots, freezes, etc. only way to fix is battery pull which sucks cause i came from the Storm...must be a curse? anyways, verizon is sending me a new one tomorrow, I think we all just got lemons. i'll let you know how the new one goes...

wow, how did you get the phone memory so low?
as for your attachments, there should be a setting (i can't remember where, but most likely in the mail app) to have attachments save to the sd card or the larger memory partition.
also, if you go to settings, applications, manage and click on mail, you can see how big the cache and data sections are, and if they seem too large, you can clear them from there.
clearing data might mean you have to re sign in to mail and resync it though. - 05-11-2010, 11:08 PM #23
Phone memory low, memory getting low.
I got the same exact problem. Im getting a error message showing "phone memory low" and cant get it to go away unless you wipe the phone. Tech support has already had me wipe the phone twice which deletes everything on the phone. Im not sure if I got a lemon or what. I talked to Verizon tech support and conferenced in a tech from HTC and they act like they have never heard of it. I was wondering if there is a fix for this or should i send the phone back and order another one? Someone has to know how to correct this issue. I only had eight applications downloaded to the phone the second time I had to restore to factory setting which wiped the phone again. Can anyone help with this????
