Wi/Fi to My Ipad with Incredible?

Gang,
I just wanted to verify that it is impossible to use my Droid Incredible as a Wi/Fi hot spot for my non 3-G Ipad without rooting the Incredible? Also, I understand that the rooting has just been completed by developers but the procedures are not yet available? Am I wrong? Essentially I'm saying that there is no procedure to use my Incredible for internet connectivity with my Ipad until its been rooted - and the rooting procedures are still being developed?

You are right that for now to get your incredible to be a WiFi hot spot you will need root. 2.2 has the option for WiFi but there is no grantee that Verizon will have that option enabled when we get the update.
