Anyone have idea when Droid Incredible will get Froyo 2.2 OS?

I would be perfectly happy with my Verizon Droid Incredible getting Froyo 2.2! I know the Incredible hasn't gotten a lot of love lately since all the buzz has been about and around the Sprint 4G Evo phone but once Froyo comes to Big Red via the HTC Droid Incredible, I'll take Verizon's wireless network over Sprint's any day of the week!

Who knows! They have to port it into the HTC Sense UI, so based on the lack of love we're getting, I'm going to say 3Q... maybe longer.

I think middle of the summer is a good guess, although it very well could be longer.

I guess it depends on which phone takes precedent. I'd think the EVO would get it first, just because its Sprint. But I don't think it would take much to port it from the EVO to the Incredible.

Didn't HTC already name drop the Incredible as slated for the Froyo makeover, but it would be later this year? I'm thinking fall before HTC slaps the seal of approval on it.

It's all rumor until we get a confirmed date from HTC, and even then, things can slide. I'm sure we all remember the Moto Droid update...

specific dates are a rumor, as to us getting it, and the general (officially stated) time frame, that's been stated by HTC.

second half of the year is not the same as Q2, so Q3 is still part of it, but i'm really hoping for a Q2 release.

This is a problem with HTC Sense.
With a stock android phone, the Froyo update would be a simple thing, only requiring the carriers testing and approval.
With a manufactures skin over android, we have to wait for them to get Froyo to play with their skin, and then for the carrier to test and approve.

If HTC takes a long time to get it done, my next phone will have stock android.
