I built a bonfire at the beach.

It fell out of my pocket, and someone called about 10 minutes after the fire was started. Ripped the fire apart to find it about ~200 degrees and half melted away screen first in the sand. Pulled the battery out and let it cool down for about an hour. Powered up first try and could make calls, surf the web, ect.

Everything still works, but I dont recommend trying this at home :)

Wow! Now that's a torture test from hell. Incredible build quality to still be working after that.

Got insurance on that puppy?

Its amazing to me that the touch screen could go through the heat without cracking or just plain malfunctioning.

I am convinced this is a very solid phone!

New article on Gizmodo/Engadget: The iPhone would have survived this better.

But how would they know if it survived better? The iPhone doesn?t make calls when pristine. ;) Maybe Fire would make it work better? That?s it? Ted Nugent Tech Support? Add Fire!

Now how does it stand up to a blender?

Nice pics BTW. Gald you have the insurance.
