I was fishing and had my phone in a zip lock bag listening to Pandora I was changing the station and put it in my lap and forgot it was there got up to set the hook on a fish and of course the phone went for a swim. Now that's not the bad part....I was in 30 feet if water when this happend I actually jumped in clothes on and all and dove down and found it. I thought everything was cool until I noticed the bag was not all the way sealed. Thank goodness for insurance.

Just few days ago, my little brother is playing around my table while I was charging
my HTC Incredible. Suddenly his leg dragged the wire of my charger and my
Incredible was dragged from desktop to fall into the floor. My heart is broken...
and I cannot breath for several seconds. Fortunately, I put a case on it and
for the sake of a wooden floor, there is no scratch on it.
An advise to other people: You may be very careful about your lovely
cellphone, however, it is hard to prevent other people put damages on it--
unless you give her a suitable case to let her protect herself.

My dog was being playful. I was sitting on the couch after a long day of work browsing my twitter feed.
Dog grabbed my Incredible right out of my hand and started running all over the house with it. The yelling and chasing commenced. Poor little guy (both the phone and the dog).
The damage was very minor. One tooth mark on the edge of the phone, away from the screen. But this damage would have been prevented with a case! Alas.

The wife and I had just gotten and charged our new Incredibles and I was on the phone with Verizon trying to port over our numbers from AT$T when I knocked one of the phones off the desk and onto the floor tile, where my Labrador helfully dove in to retrieve it. When I looked up from accepting the phone from my dog's sopping mouth, The Wife was giving me the Look of Death. Thankfully, it was MY phone that dropped, and I choose to believe the scratches on the screen came from the stone tile and not the dog's mouth. Oh, for the lack of a Seido case!

Working for a TV station. I was climbing ~90 feet up into the air on the broadcast tower to adjust a small receiver unit that we use for a broadband up-link to the station.
Right as I finished adjusting the receiver, my boss called me on my Incredible to verify to me the signal strength. While this was unnecessary as I used ConnectBot to login via SSH to monitor the signal strength. Him calling would of made no difference why it fell. I was in the process of putting my phone in a secure pocket. Then the damn bird....
A freaking bird, not sure where it came from scared the living day lights out of me! After laughing at the bird scaring me, I noticed something that made me get sick. I looked down to the ground just in time the see my wonderful Incredible hit a rung on the antenna. The Verizon snap on case that I had on the phone popped off and flying in different directions. This tower site is in the middle of some farmers hay field. The farmer allowed me to use his pickup truck to drive though his field to get to the tower. The back of this truck was filled with loose hay. After the phone hit the rung on the tower, it started flying towards the back up the truck. With no time to think of a prayer hoping that it did not get damaged when it hit the tower and maybe it will have a soft landing in the loose hay in the truck. It hit the side fender of the pickup truck, I could hear the "thunk" up on the tower.
After I climbed down the tower, walking towards the truck. I began picking up the pieces of my phone. The Verizon snap on case shattered, this sickened me. I found my battery and it's cover halfway between the tower and the truck. I found a scratch on the battery cover and the battery was hot. REALLY HOT. I figured something went bad inside and I decided the leave the battery on the ground. Then I got to the truck, prepared to find the worst.
Nothing. Not a scratch on the actual phone or the screen cracked. Left a hell of a dent in the truck. On my way back, I stopped by a sprint store (No Verizon store within 50 miles, but Sprint was just ten minutes out) and purchased a battery for the TouchPro2. After paying way to much for the battery, I installed in my phone and powered up.
Everything worked as it should. I was not prepared for that! I do not know how or why it did not shatter the screen. But the phone is in perfect condition, except for the battery cover.
Oh yea, did I mention that I'm afraid of heights?

I'd like to win the Innocase Active!
My phone was almost destroyed TWICE in the same day!! Stupid LAX airport!
1st time: I was in the airport security line and a kid climbed on the metal detector belt and accidentally kicked my phone (and other stuff) off of the belt. Luckily, the phone landed on the narrow carpet we were standing on, so the phone just missed the granite floor and survived the fall without a scratch or a crack.
2nd time: The SAME DAY on the plane, my (case-free) phone slipped out of my hands and slid a couple seats back during our ascent. I had to wait the entire flight (I have a fear of flying, so I don't like to get out of my seat) until everyone got off before I could retrieve it---again, somehow the phone was scratch free.
I don't want to test fate any longer!! I need the Innocase Active!

A case cuold have saved humanity
So I was walking down the street, along comes a street sweeper, probably going way to fast for his own good. Right before the sweeper approached a bike messenger sideswiped me and sent me into the street. And wuoldn't you know it at that moment I was abducted by Aliens. Yup, they took me to their ship, no they didn't do any funny business to me, but was interested in my Incredible. They had been watching TV and reading cnn.com and was extremely interested in a device called the "iphone". I told them that my phone was an Incredible, way better than the iphone. They said "i don't care" and tossed me out of their ship. Must have been a couple miles up cause it hurt when I hit the ground. My incredible got some nice scuffs on it from the fall too. A case definitely would have made the experience more enjoyable.

I was on my phone texting even though that's dangerous. When I get done sending a message I put the phone in my lap like always. I arrive home and I park in my driveway. I get out of my car and the next thing I know I hear my phone drop on the ground and its rolling down the driveway. I'm screaming ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! Once I got to my phone I was relieved to see that it was minimal damage and that the back took most of the damage. This has happened on numerous occasions. I have been lucky to not have major damage. A new seidio case would help out tremendously.@workMakin$

Well, one night I was at the bar with a bunch of my buddies. We were having a few drinks and discussing our past stupid bar moments. Eventually this conversation turned into a game of dare, double dare. So when it finally came to me, my buddy points to imo and all of our opinion the hottest girl in the entire bar, she worked for captain morgan as a promo girl. He told me I'd done dumber things, so I should just go up and ask her for her phone number. I was a few drinks and didn't really care about the outcome so I said what the hell. When I got up there I whipped out my new Droid Incredible which I waited about a month for and said "Hi, my name is ___ , I was wondering what you are doing later? Is there anyway I could get your number and give you a call?" As I waited for my ineveitable annual "Heisman" (Our groups way of saying you got sitff armed by a girl) much to my surprise she said "Yeah that might be fun, my name is ____, by the way" I was pretty shell shocked honestly, I dropped my incredible on the floor watching it's back pop off and the battery fly out of it, and of course it would not turn back on... Literally the one that got away. BTW she did write her number on my hand but by the end of the night it had been washed off due to my visit to the restrooms which I had not realized until later!

There was this one time, I dropped my Droid on the floor. If I had a case it would have survived the fall. Cases are important.
Then, I asked my girlfriend to borrow her phone to call tech support to REVIVE my Droid. She has the iPhone 4. If SHE had a case, I might have been able to place the call to tech support, in order to revive my Droid. So twice over, cases could have saved my Droid. Horrific.
P.S.-Entirely fictional story. I have dropped my Droid once, but it's a well made phone, and thus won't break. However, it does have a few scuff marks on it now. My girlfriend also does not have an iPhone 4. That would be a deal-breaker...

I was playing flipcup with a bunch for drunken idiots that I call friends. I pulled out my new incredible to text someone when an ***** "friend" acts like my phone is a cup and flips it out of my hand. The phones goes about 10 feet in the air and slams into the ground (could have used a case and really want one).

Kids, phones- dangerous mix
two boys, 4 and 6, playing in the family room.
Alarm goes off on DI on the book case. 4 year old, trying to be helpful, grabs phone and comes running across the room.
Little man trips and sends the DI sailing-- it then bounces, gracefully, off of the wood stove and lands face up on stone hearth.
DI is, amazingly, intact. couple of dings on the corner where it hit the stone, but otherwise none the worse for wear.
What are the odds of being that lucky twice? A nice sturdy case for at home with two very active young boys would be a wonderful thing.

OK. I confess. I'm a klutz. There, I said it.
Having confessed my problem publicly, I need to do something to protect the investment I made when I bought the Incredible.
Please help me!!!

(I take a deep breathe, cautiously walking up to the podium, clear my throat and speak)
Me: Hello, my name is Sarah and I owned a Motorola Razor...until...2010.
The Group: Hello, Sarah! (some members of the group look at me with pity in their eyes, others softly shuffle their feet as they shake their heads in despair)
(I wipe a bead of sweat from my forehead, thinking to myself, "First-time Smartphone Anonymous must be pretty strapped for cash...where's the relief?")
Me: So my two-years were up and I traded up in a big way. My first smartphone was the HTC Incredible. I still remember my excitement as I opened the box, felt the light beauty in my palm and then was sent over the edge by her quick and accurate response. I carried her everywhere, carefully plugged her in by my bed to charge at night, playing with her whenever I could. Sure I read the Android Central posts about the Verizon offered cases, but I had come to love the nakedness of my Incredible. How could I tarnish it with some cheap plastic? I scoured the elite casemakers' websites for the perfect protection for my pride and joy, but the Incredible was so new, brand new, that they were still in the development stages. And that's when it happened...
(I searched the group for a connection, someone else who, like me, was responsible and perhaps a little naïve, then I found him, wide-eyed and checking his pocket every 3-5 seconds to make sure it was still there. I thought to myself, "this was for him.")
Me: I had just pulled into my driveway after a long day of work and yearned for a cool drink and a relaxing evening. My mind was somewhere else as I collected my briefcase, lunch box, jacket, keys and phone from my car. As I whipped around to lock the door, Incredible in my overcrowded hand, I felt the light weight slip from my fingers. I inhaled deeply, catching my breath in the back of my throat. On the sidewalk...face down...my Incredible lay. The back had popped off and I feared the worse...fear that was soon realized as I dropped everything to rush to my smartphone.
(I held up the below photo so the group could see…everyone gasped)

So I was at the gym Tuesday night and I started off with the treadmill. About 5 minutes in, with motivation from the music I was listening to on my Incredible, I increased the the speed of the treadmill. While trying to keep pace with the moving floor under me, my phone slipped out of my pocket, hit the treadmill and shot back like a rocket...I was in the first row of treadmills, the battery reached the fourth row...Had my incredible been secured in a Seidio case, not only would it have been intact on impact, but it probably would not have slipped out of my shorts.

I was standing next to my friends bed when I got a phone call. I quickly whipped my Incredible out of my pocket to answer only to have it slip out of my hand and start to tumble to the tile floor. I tried to get my hands under it to stop it from hitting the floor. In a last ditch effort, I swatted it toward the bed and luckily it landed on the soft pillow top mattress. I would love to win a case for my Incredible so I can stop lugging this queen sized mattress everywhere I go.

Every time my 4 1/2 yr old uses my phone to play a game I find myself wishing I had a case. Especially when she wants to run around and show everyone her latest zebrapaint work of art.

Alien landing pad...
Well, I was in my back yard with my wife and kids. We heard this loud sound and started looking around. What was that? Tornado? Hurricane? Low flying play? Nope, it was a miniature UFO! The UFO was taking turns zooming around each of our heads saying..."we need a landing place, but it must be perfect!" they shouted, over and over again. They said they had scoured the earth and finally found a suitable place to land. They turned on their bright laser beam out of their miniature UFO, pointing across my yard straight at my Droid Incredible! "That device is magical and the best place to land", they said in a weird alien computer animated voice. In slow motion, it all started happening. I knew what was happening and what they were going to do. I had left my Droid Incredible on a bench across the yard, and it was their landing point. In slow motion, it seemed, I exploded out of my 3 point stance to race them to the Droid Incredible. You could hear their rockets ignite as they saw me running. The zipped by my head and proceeded to land on the caseless device. I dove in the air (again in slow motion) to save it. My dive came up 2 inches short as they landed. The screen and device was scratched forever. As I lay there crying, I wondered what the landing would have looked like if I had a case on my phone... THE END

just bought Dinc
I just bought my incredible and taken it outta the box and placed it on my dash , I was pulling out of the parking spot and ,realized too late that the phone was on dash and not in middle console, watched as my new incredible flew out passenger side window, if I had bought a case that day too I was told it probably wouldn't have moved and I would now have a scratch free phone, however I glad it still works
- 07-09-2010, 02:08 PM #95
I have a 1yr who grabs and throws everything. I left my DINC on the couch and she grabbed it and threw it across the living room with tile floors, luckly it landed on the dogs bed. She loves playing with phones, so now i always leave my blackberry curve out for her to play with and toss around, but that doesn't mean she wont grab my DINC if I accidentally leave it on the couch again. a Case would hopefully make the fail less painful if a 1yr gets a hold of it.

About 2 weeks ago the wife and kids decide"lets go to walmart to purchase some bicycles." Well, as we get to the bicycle dept. I find a bike that I like. So I pull out my dinc, open up shop savvy hoping to find it somewhere cheaper. As I squeeze between two bikes to get to the barcode, my two boys decide to chase each other up and down the aisle as they usually do when we are there. Right when I'm about to scan the barcode my 3 yr old runs and jumps on me knocking my dinc out of my hand and onto the concrete floor. The upper left corner chips and the outlining of the usb port cracks. That was a very scary day for me.

I was taking the train on my way home from work last Friday. I had my briefcase loaded with my laptop and papers in one hand and flowers in the other hand as a present for my wife. Sure enough as I was walking to my car from the train station, my phone rings. Since I was in the middle of a throng of people, I couldn't set down the briefcase or the flowers, so I tried to fish my Incredible out of my pants pocket with the hand that was holding the flowers. I'm sure this was an amusing sight (think mid-40's commuter contortionist) as I was finally able to pull the phone out of my pocket. Just as it was coming free of the pocket, the phone flew out of my hand and headed towards the "sidewalk of death." Thank goodness my former Little League All Star instincts kicked in as I dropped the flowers and saved my Incredible from an early demise. My wife didn't know about the flowers anyway...they were a surprise. B-)

I was reading e-mail in the hall when some ***** ran strait into me and my droid incredible went flying. Luckily a friend of mine saw what happened and caught it before it slammed to the ground.

When I go on all night drinking benders, my Droid Incredible really takes some abuse. Not too long ago, I woke up with a raging hangover, smack dab in the middle of the hyena den at the local zoo. When I finally gained my bearings, the notorious laughing of two ravenous creatures on either side of me gave hint that I was to be breakfast du jour. In an instant, I managed to grab my Incredible from my pocket and launch it at one of them as a distraction. It was quickly in the grasps of his ferocious jaws by the time I got into with the other one. Luckily , I'm well versed in hyena wrestling. Before long I had the beast in a submission hold so intense, that upon my release he fled for survival. My display of primal dominance let the other one know who was boss of the hyena den that morning. He too scurried off with his tail between his legs, but not before my phone fell victim to a gnarly gnaw session. As you know, the jaw of the hyena is capable of dealing out one of the strongest bites in the animal kingdom. If I had a Seidio case on my Incredible that morning, surely the damage would not have been so bad.

I got angry at an iPhone user who kept saying "I don't care...I don't care" every time I explained that the Evo 4G was a better phone. I explained that it has a bigger screen, faster internet speeds, high-res front/back camera, doesn't require WiFi for video chat, has a replaceable battery and memory card, is highly customizable (widgets/fonts/etc), cheaper monthly bill, etc.
So I threw my phone at him.
I really could have used a case for when it hit his his head and fell on the cement! I don't even think he noticed the phone hit him, though. He just kept saying "I need an iPhone 4. I want the one with the bigger GBs."
