How do you correct words when typing words
When I am typing an email and make a mistake in a word how do I go back and fix it. I know on the IPhone or on Blackberry, when you misspell a word you would long press on the word and a magnifying glass would enhance the word and you would just move it to the part of the word you mispelled and place the cursor in the appropriate spot. With the DINC I have to tap the word to place the cursor in it but its hard to get it exactly where you want it. If you long press the word the box that comes up doesn't give you the option to edit a word in the middle of the sentence. Is there a setting or an app that uses a magnifying glass to easily go back and fix a word.

just hit the back button and then other word choices will come up. If the word isn't in the dictionary it will be orange and then say saved at the bottom of the screen.

I have the predictive turned off because when type I am looking at the keyboard not the words in the email and if I misspell a word and don't realize it the phone will put a predictive word in its place and its usually not the word I want. I'm actually trying to see if there is an app that will give me an easier way to go back into the letter I am typing and place the cursor where I need it to correct a word.

The incredible comes with the optical trackball (joystick)
Just move the cursor where you need or tap your finger on it. - 07-14-2010, 05:41 PM

I've found when typing odd ball passwords and such the predictive is a real pita. The only way I can deal with it is to turn off the predictive. A toggle some where out of the way (perhaps in the status bar) would be sweet!

Thats how I used to do it but to get the cursor exactly where you want it is tricky and usually takes several taps of the screen to get the cursor in the right spot. Yesterday I downloaded Swiftkey and it really is a good program. The predictive is amazing and helps out a lot. I still wish that further UI builds will incorporate some type of magnifier when long pressing a word you want to correct. Its much easier and faster than using the optical trackball.

But...that's the whole point of the predictive text. After you use it for a while, it should start to remember your historical typing. The first week having my phone, it was making a lot of errors. But since then, it has been great! Very few words I have to go back and change.
And ic3po, I have yet to run into a password form where the predictive text is actually active. I don't think the predictive text is actually enabled in username or password forms/boxes.

Uhh, yesterday I was trying to fill some info in Passsword Safe and I was really having problems with things like 8nXii, H52aa, etc. It was always trying to capitalize, adding spaces and such. Not once did it ask me if I wanted to save any thing.
That said, I'm completely open to any suggestions. Thanks!
