Lost all text messages

Anyone else loose all text messages? Just rebooted my phone and lost all texts. Any ideas why? is it possible to get them back?

I am looking for a solution myself.
I lost all my messages when the upgraded phone to Android 2.2 (Froyo).
I called VZW and they said that is normal after a software upgrade, I'm like that's ******ed.

Any how the search continues.

There is a setting in the message app which controls auto delete of messages. Sounds like maybe that is enabled with a limit of 0?

that setting wasn't enabled... verizon blames the 2.2 upgrade

Happened to me as well. Since that has happened it seems as though the phone has come back to life after huge lag problem for days after the upgrade? Could something have been done to fix the update and also delete all messages????

My OTA upgrade was last week and messages deleted yesterday..Should have backed them up.

There are several apps (SMS Backup & Restore) to save SMS messages to your SD card in case it happens again. I have my messages backed up on my SD card. So far no issues, but you never know...

All my messages were deleted. Poof! Even the locked messages.

WTF!!!!

This is an issue that goes back for quite some time.

I have the messages I want back up with my backup on sd card too.

I never had my text messages vanish just use the backup ,,, just if it did.

my Dinc did this last weekend too, most frustrating thing ever, I shouldnt have to back my messages up.

Mine did this once a couple months ago. I was perplexed but it wasn't that big of a deal. Sucked that the message history was gone but I rarely review them anyways past the first week they are on the phone.
