I am wondering if any one knows of a way to default the opening view of people app so that it displays groups instead of the all that it opens to? I would prefer it cause it would allow for a reduced searching time for the number I need based on the situation I am using the phone in. If any one knows how to do this or has a suggestion of an alternate app I could be using to do this I would be grateful.

The only options i know of are in the settings. Open People and hit Menu. It should let you check what you want to view. My phone is upstairs, so I can't confirm if Groups is an option. I know Phone and Google contacts are options.
