Obviously the DI is too advanced for you. Call ATT; they have just the Iphone for you.

Lol. It amazes me how peoples experiences differ so greatly.. my Incredible has been nothing shy of its name. From lighting fast internet to flawless text/email entry to the free voice activated turn by turn navigation.. just the whole experience has been great. Now with 2.2 & Flash I'm able to enjoy tons of new websites.. I'm totally satisfied.

After all this time, people still havent realized that the bars mean NOTHING when the advanced powers of the phone will meter down radio power until needed. My Dinc that I have had since the day before release day has NEVER dropped a call. Hell, right now I have SIX bars!!!

Bars or not, I was setting at work next to a buddy, he on his Ally and me on my DInc. It is inside a building, a Toyota assembly plant here in KY. But it is about 100 ft from two big doors...
Anyway, ATT phones get great signal, the Ally was getting decent, but my signal was between -97 and -102. I could not get any you tube videos to load... web pages would stop loading or take FOREVER....
Once outside, the signal picked up and everything works great. Just gets very frustrating.... the thing eats the battery in no time because it is working so hard to get a signal.
My complaint on taking 5 minutes to type and post above was not due to me not being able to figure the phone out you doofs, it was because the page just set there trying to load. Also the typing was very slow.... very laggy. - 10-28-2010, 02:52 AM

Actually there is nothing wrong with the Dinc either ,mine works great almost the same signal everywhere I go as my DX .
I dont know whats wrong with yours if you are having signal issues but that doesnt mean they are all like yours.
How you logically resolve the matter shows your true intelligence.
However that being said :
If you want to sling it against the wall "go for it" I didnt pay for your phone , lol
. Buy a model of everyphone made and sling it against the wall if thats what you wana do.

When is the last time you updated the towers on your phone? Dial *228, choose option 2, and then wait. IT could just be that your towers are out of date.

Go and get any of the Motorola phones, you think the Dinc sucks wait till your droid pro starts bogging down. Motorola uses cheap components, htc has always been known for Making good quality phones. SwiftKey may solve your typing issues and sometimes turning your phone off then on helps with issues due to cache needing cleared of other various things.

Sorry you are having a terrible experience. It is not representative of what most people are experiencing.
Do a full reset and start over. The cleanest, full reset I know of would be to manually download the froyo zip file. Rename it to update.zip and install it though recovery while doing a factory wipe. See link. This will wipe everything, but it's not a bigger pain than if you were to switch phones. Backup whatever you need, if possible.

dude stop complaining, either Dial *228, choose option 2, and then wait to update your signal or call verizon and get your device replaced. this is defiantly one of the best phones I have ever had, yet you make it sound like your using an iphone.

I have to laugh.... first off, some of you need to be able to recognize someone who is frustrated and venting... others need to learn to read and comprehend a it better.
I NEVER complained about having a problem typing on my Inc. When I stated the five minute thing, it took that long to POST what I had typed....
2 VZW Android smartphones next to each other. Both on latest PRL, both with latest *18 bump. Both with over 90% battery left. Yet the Ally was constantly seeing -67 to -80 signal strength while my DInc never got better than -97 signal strength.
JUST for comparison, another guy with iphone 3G had full set of bars (no idea about his actual signal strength number...) and both those guys had no problem with 3G service. My DInc, for example, would not play youtube videos (kept getting errors trying to play) while the other guys' played perfectly.
Once outside the doors (less than 100 ft away) I get full bars (I know, I know...). At home I use wifi so no problems there.
Just frustrating, that's all. Aside from that (and typical crappy battery life) I am happy with the phone.
