Random Issues and Questions

Hiii... I am new, I have had my Incredible for about 2 months. Everything has been great, but now suddenly I am having some weird issues. I used to have a BB Curve, so I am pretty unfamiliar with... everything. Here are the issues, I hope someone can help me. Right now I am missing my BB.

1. Randomly all of a sudden just now, ALL of my text messages are gone. Vanished into thin air. I had probably about 20 conversations. Just picked up my phone, went to the texts and there is no a trace of anything.

2. Starting yesterday, my e-mail (gmail) will not receive messages unless I press refresh.

3. Every once in a while my phone just does things on its own. I will put it down and not touch it and the screen will move, click on things, etc.... I think it is haunted.

4. Can't for the life of me figure out how to change calendar entries. This is probably the dumbest of all my questions, but I am ok with that. And sometimes I will put something in for 1:00, and it just decides to change it to 8:00, for no reason. I can delete and re-enter them, but that's annoying. How do I just change the existing entries?

I guess that's it.... Not as many as I thought. I am sure there are answers, but I searched for a while and couldn't find anything. Any help is appreciated!!

Haven't had or seen any thing with text message issues. If it keeps happening try a battery pull or go full on and factory reset... Maybe some one else has something better?

The gmail thing was system wide and I believe it has been resolved.

Try cleaning the optical mouse with an alcohol wipe and if you have a can of compressed air blow it out to be sure no little bits of something have worked their way into it and are causing the issue.

Go with a long press on the entry you want to change and select edit entry. Also with that when you put it in to begin with watch out cause you can select 1 and go to add an entry but by default it will put in what ever time it happens to be when you are making the entry as the start time even if you are adding it for months down the line.

Thanks Vudu! All very helpful, except the weird texting thing. I have read about some people having this problem with the motorolla droid, but no one knew why, so weird.

rpfarrah, just a few days ago. I do it pretty frequently. my BB used to delete BBmessages from time to time when my memory was full or whatever.

Found the answer with a little more digging...tap menu and the page address bar drops down to reveal a little refresh icon next to the url.

I had the same thing happen with my messages...just a day or so ago...it sucked...2k messages, gone.

There is a function to automatically erase messages once a thread gets to a certain length. It's in settings- make sure it's off. If you're really worried about losing messages, back them up.
