When using google maps or the compass app, it shows my direction as being consistently 180 degrees off. I've tried calibrating the compass with no luck. Any ideas? Not sure what I could be doing wrong, faulty sensor?
I discovered a fix for this a while back. While using a compass, maps, Google sky map etc. Just "tumble" the phone in your hands a few times and it will be spot on.
Nope. Not on the north pole, though it was as cold as the north pole here for a few days. I have tried re-installing apps but it is consistent throughout each of those apps which makes me think hardware issue. I did try the tumbling, figure 8 waving, calibration methods discussed in other threads with no change. Any other ideas? Not a huge idea as I don't plan to be doing any orienteering using my phone, just annoying.
