Macro shots

What is the closest you can get a clear picture with the Inc?

And is it just me or is the auto focus very slow on the stock camera?

I can get decently close, but the lens isn't made for macro photography. I've only noticed slow auto focus in the dark (bar, restaurant, or indoors). If I'm in a bright or sun-light area it's very fast.
