This might make a good sitcky as I have seen a lot of questions on it.
This issue seems to be due to the inspire improperly sensing a TRRS plug when a trs (3.5mm stereo) plug is inserted.
The end result (I think) is that the "remote" ring gets random "data" and causes the phone to voice dial, fast forward, skip tracks, and so forth.
I am unsure if this is a hardware issue or if it is fixable via patches from HTC, but I would be interested to know if they are aware of this, and how I could contact them to help resolve it.
The temporary fix (and I say temporary in that I have this unending need for things to work the way they should,and I hope HTC looks into this) is to install a headset blocker from the app store that cancels out the remote channel
