Help with contact recognition

My wife has a dinc. ..but when she gets phone calls doesn't always show the contact name..for instance less say our home number with area code is 555-555-5555 and that's how she has it saved as home. If we are in our area it only comes thru as 555-5555 without the area code and she doesn't recognize right off..well home she does but other #'s that she doesn't memorize. Why does it not show the area code also..? My.droid x did and my charge does. Help she is frustrated

Mine has been doing that for about three weeks now.....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Log in to your Verizon account and make sure your caller id is on.

More and likely its on but doesn't hurt to check.
