Breaking the Root Cherry

Whats up everyone,

I've finally decided to try my hand at rooting my Fascinate. I've had it for a year now and I highly doubt the ICS update will be coming to my phone so I want to keep it as up to date as possible. I've gone through many of the threads to find many of the links to drivers dead or other issues post root (date connectivity loss, missed calls, etc). Does anyone have any step by step instructions that have all the links (drivers, etc) still working? I've been on Android Central for a year and I only trust this community. Thanks in advance.

The thing with our phone is that each one behaves differently to rooting and flashing Roms and all that stuff. My recommendation is to go and read the first time rooting sticky at the top of this forum. You will find links to download all the stuff you need.

You have two choices for rooting: 1) Flash a custom ROM that includes root; or 2) Flash CWM through ODIN, then flash the su + busybox zip file. If you need the drivers for the Fascinate, always go to the source and get the drives from the Samsung website:
