Mesmerize Browser - No Bing

The link above goes to a xda forum post on the Mesmerize browser. The Mesmerize browser works on the fascinate. Follow the instructions in the post to flash the zip or use the ones below.

1) Extract browser.apk from the zip
2) move/modify the browser.apk and browser.odex from /system/app to the
(I move them to a folder called bloat on the sd card)
3) copy extracted browser.apk file to /system/app
4) restart your phone.

After this you should be able to perform searches from the browser address bar using Google.

Or you could just use Dolphin HD.

dolphin is too busy for me, it's the same reason i don't use firefox on my desktop anymore.

aside from not being able to download certain files i like the stock browser much better.

if i had to choose a 3rd party browser i'd (and did until i started using the mesmerize browser) choose xscope

Yea, I actually prefer the stock browser as well, it's just very clean and fast. I swapped the Mesmerize browser as soon as I saw the post, and it works perfectly.

Wonder if the Bingless TouchWiz launcher from the Mesmerize would work too.

I prefer the stock browser. Never liked dolphin or skyfire.

I just backed up the old files and loaded this apk into the correct directory. Works flawlessly! I am now 100% bing free (with the stock browser!)
