Kernel not installing?

I downloaded both Dirrk's D012 and D02 OC 1200 SV kernel and when I go to install the zip from the sd card, it hangs up on "installing update". I let it sit for 20 mins and nothing changes, the screen is unresponsive and the progress bar is gray.

I'm also a little unsure on the kernel files themselves. I downloaded them and when I put them on my phone, I couldn't find them. I would boot into CWM recovery and navigate to the correct folder, but it kept saying no files. I then compressed them into a .zip file with es file explorer and then I was able to find them in recovery.

Any help will be much appreciated!!

Download the kernel again, but don't unzip it. If you unzip and then rezip, you may have problems installing through Clockwork.
