So, after not rooting my android device since the original Droid (April 2010), I decided to to just do it today to my Fascinate. Extremely happy I did.

The only real question I have is that I upped my modem to DJ05 and applied the SuperDark ROM made for DJ05. I also went into ROM Manager to apply a kernel. I chose StupidFast v1.54. Once applied, the phone reset.

How can I tell if the kernel was successfully added. The kernel under about phone says "2.6.29". For some reason, I don't think the Kernel changed over.

If it didn't, any help?

From what im told and have read, there is no way of knowing what kernel you actually have. It will not change in the about phone menu. I had same issue i just flashed StupidFast v1.76 and it says 2.6.29 but i know it is StupidFast because it fixed my issue with the haptic feedback
