physical search button to Google

is there a way with froyo? I see in my menu i can choose bing yahoo or google but it doesnt tie in to my physical search button it seems.

My search button goes straight to Google, so I'm not sure why yours doesn't. What does it bring up when you hit the search button?

Short press brings up Google search, long press does not bring up Google voice search on mine.

You can change search settings by pressing the search button, then hitting the menu button.

that brings up a settings tab, but its just searchable items with checkboxes for contact, apps, web, music..no way to define search engine. is it something i needed to flash to the phone?

It should have been defaulted to Google... Not sure why yours isn't

I don't think so, that's the only thing I have on mine as well. I guess there's not a way to change it, although I could have sworn I've seen it before...

when i went into a browser and menu--settings, it showed google as default after i put froyo on..when i press the search button though and types something in, it routes through bing

Hmmm...now THAT is odd. The only for me that still routes through bing is the address bar in the browser.
