DL30 Phone Call Buzz

I flashed DL30 and so far everything is great, but I have noticed one issue, anyone else hearing/experiencing this?

When making a phone call and holding the phone to my head (screen off) everything sounds normal, but when pulling the phone from my head and the screen goes on while still on phone call, the headset speaker makes an audible buzz. Sounds like an old WinMo phone I had when the screen was going out. Its like hearing the screen work through the headset speaker. The sound wasnt there before the flash of DL30. Anyone else hear this noise with this leak?

Yes, I too have noticed this. It's the same sound you'd get if you had a BLN enabled kernel and got a notification. Keep in mind we don't have a DL30 modem yet though.

Adrynalyne reported this in another thread last night. This is a bug in the system when the phone's proximity sensors detect it being away from the head it turns the screen on and will reset the brightness controls..

When the screen comes on there is a buzzing sound.. Samsung was aware of this bug...

first time poster... I'm on the EB01 Rom super clean 2.2 and still get this buzzing sound. I have tried multiple flashes of the eb01 rom super clean and it still doesn't fix the problem. Is this going to problem from now on?

Welcome to Android central allthesethoughts,,, what was your setup before EB01, were you running voodoo?

no voodoo. i had dl30 which i forgot to mention was that was when i first heard this buzzing sound. Before that I had dl09 stock rooted. Today i did this... Flash on odin dj01 did a factory reset...wipe data cache....wipe davlik...then re-flash eb01 superclean 2.2 on odin. I made a phone call and the buzz sound only comes on when i turn the phone on landscape near my ear. This also turns on the display, like the bug found on the dl30 rom build. The person on the other side of the phone call also heard the buzzing sound. I hope I made sense my grammer is not so good. :P

no i haven't. Just super clean 2.2 odin file and dl30. oh wait I did use earlier versions of super clean but I don't remember if the buzzing sound was present. Please note i only use the super clean files you made to be flash with odin for froyo builds

well they are the same as the rest out there,,,, maybe try debloated version or flash back to Superclean 2.1

I'm having the same problem. I've reflashed everything. I was hoping maybe some new kernels would be out soon and maybe that might help.

I hear the same buzzing sound, i heard it on dl30 and am also hearing it on debloated eb01...as soon as the screen turns on i hear the buzzing.

Im not sure what could be done to fix it....maybe have the screen dim to a lower setting while on a call?

Thats actually an interesting test. Someone take off auto brightness, set lowest lighting level, and see if it fixes it.

Dimmed the screen to the lowest setting and called voice mail.. When you take the phone away from your ear you can detect the hissing (buzzing) sound of the screen when it comes on.. When you put the phone back to your ear, screen shuts down and the sound is gone. It is not nearly as loud as when you have the brightness at max.

It is not present when using speaker phone.

Edit: I did note that this is not nearly as bad as it was with DL30 and the proximity sensor does not reset the brightness controls on EB01... at least it has not for me .. yet?

no change from re-flashing, but i see here that it's a bug with the leak. I'm glad it's the leak and not a problem with my phone. Here hoping the next leak or a developer fixes the problem. Thank you everyone that responded and helped with my problem.
