I should also note I stupidly skipped over the root section when I first tried (rushing through this; not good) and ran the cwr terminal before I did the root. After that I lost vibrate and my phone cannot be recognized.
are you able to boot into Clockwork?
No but strangely when i held down the volume buttons while powering up, my computer recognized the phone when I turned it on. I tried to root again and it recognized it until it tried to install superuser and then it said device not found again.
did you make sure that the screen was unlocked and not asleep when it got to that part?
Yes debugging and stay awake is on. Think it's possible I'm already rooted? I've done it before but I was pretty sure it was killed when I updated. Should I try the CWR terminal again?
download a free terminal emulator from the market
open it and type su,,, tell me if you see $ or #
$ permission denied
you are not rooted,,,, pull the battery and try again
-click-root/Files/root.sh

Run the 1-click-remove root. Then try rooting again. You will probably get some errors during the 1-click-removeroot, but as long as they aren't device not found it will have worked
And my phone is frozen unless I do a batt pull. :-\
During the testing procedure, I noticed if the root exploit doesnt finish successfully, my phone would freeze on the second attempt if i didnt reboot in between. thats why your phone is freezing, no need to fret, its not harming anything permanently
yeah I'm not too worried I've seen you guys get people out of much bigger jams haha do you have an instant messenger at all? I feel bad filling the thread with my one problem.
