Question about Bose MIE2 headset

Is there a rom/ kernel combo out there that supports the Bose MIE2 headset? My wife just bought them for me but they seem to be useless other than just playing music.

I just realized she bought the MIE2i. I think thats why i am having issues..

I have the first generation of these headphones. On android 2.1 you cannot voice dial. Otherwise they are fine.

Is there any way to control your music like you can on an iPod? I'd like to be able to pause, skip, and adjust the volume like you can with the iPod products.

I've just never really looked into it as I've had Bluetooth headphones for the longest time which allow you to do all those things.

Is there a (good) wired headset that will allow you to pause/FF/RW etc. from a control on the wire?
