Updating my Samsung Fascinate
I was having trouble with my Samsung Fascinate updating and no matter what i did it would not update..
So i looked and found out how to update from here using ODIN. I have since updated my phone to S:i500.04 v.EB01 Firmware Version 2.2.1... I see that there are other updates out there and i was just wondering if i will be able to update my phone without going through ODIN and having to wipe everything from my phone to get the latest update? Or will i have to wipe it every time i want to update from now on? - 08-01-2011, 02:09 PM #2

Is your phone "Rooted" or not?

Re: Updating my Samsung Fascinate
Your phone will not OTA if you are rooted on a custom ROM...
This is the latest update ED05: [ROM][ODIN] ED05 - Stock ROM, Radio, Kernel - Not rooted "leak"
Flash in ODIN. This will un-root you, so you will need to re-root again (if desired)If someone helps you out, don't forget to use the "thanks" button! - 08-02-2011, 08:41 AM #5עם ישראל חי

[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11 - 08-03-2011, 04:39 PM #10
Re: Updating my Samsung Fascinate
No, those are not stock ROMs, they are custom ROMs. And they are based on the ED01 build which is not the current official build of ED05. Go to the link JOrtenzi provided and look at this line below the numbered instructions:
Download: CI500_VZW_ED05_FROYO_REL_with_PST.7z (306.92 MB)
The blue writing after the parenthesis is the download link for the file you need. Follow the numbered instructions provided by JaeKar99 and you will be fine.Shouldn't we treat this world like the Garden of Eden and avoid the apple at all costs?
