Laucher at the bottom screen icon gone???

I have a new fascinate for 1 week now and its great, can't wait for the update but leave it to me to screw something up and I got in the application menu which is at the main bottom dock and accidentally deleted the messaging icon but I can put it back on my home screen when searching through my applications set to scroll but not grid view my queston is how can i put a icon in the main bottom ever present bar to begin with? and is there a trash can recycle type bin?

Thanks for any help so I can get this taken care of its driving me nuts lol

From the Home screen select "Applications". Then go to Menu -> View Type -> Customizable Grid. Then Menu -> Edit

You can now slide any App down to the bottom dock.
