I've noticed today that the gmail app is quite bad. i can't cut/copy text from it, you cant download files other than pics..

but the normal mail application CAN. if you were to sync your gmail account through the activesync protocol what would you loose in the transition?

i don't think the email app pushes gmail...

can't hurt to try it out for a day and see if you like it more though

trying it was quite an adventure...

so i needed to leave my original account sync'd for the app store, etc. then i re-added the same account using the activesync on google. it does push, but it also duplicated all my calendars! nice.

i think the end comment here is we need 2.2 like, now. and the updated gmail app like now also...

you can leave your gmail account synced but tell it not to sync email by going to settings, accounts, click on gmail, and uncheck what you don't want synced.

the new gmail will come with 2.2

I am currently trying K9. It has gmail push and yahoo imap. Seems pretty good but not sure if battery might be getting tweaked a little quicker. I allows copy and paste on yahoo and gmail.
