Still unable to see device on my PC - Please HELP!
I am still having problems getting my PC to conncect to my Fascinate. I have read most of the posts here and followed the suggestions and I'm still having issues. My PC is showing the following in the Safely Remove Hardware section:
USB Mass Storage Device
Samsung SCH-I500 CArd USB Device
Generic Volume - (I
I: is the USB port that I have the device plugged into, but when I open Windows Explorer and double click on I: I get "Please insert a disk into removable disk I:".
My Fascinate is set to USB Debugging, Mass Storage, and I have selected to Mount the drive but still nothing.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be great. Thanks in advance. - 02-01-2011, 11:46 AM #2

I am running Windows 7 on both of my computers at home and Windows XP on my work computer. When I first plug my Fascinate into my USB port, yes I get the new link. I installed the drivers from the phone just in case. For me, I just let the phone sit and close out the auto window that pops open on my PC. Then I hear Windows beep like I unplug a USB device, then it beeps again like I plug in a USB device, and then I get the option to Mount like before. To me there is nothing special to do, you just have to wait a few more seconds.

I just ran across this post and I am having the same issue with a Fascinate that I just received. It came in, I activated it, it pulled updates and when I try to connect to my pc, it does EXACTLY as Rigor Mortis posted above. Has anyone figured out how to correct this.
Thanks,

Don't know if this will help or not, but here is my 2 cents:
I'm running SC2.9.2 with the EC10 voodoo kernel. In order for me to connect, I have to change my USB settings on the phone to "ask on connection". If I select a hard choice of Mass Storage, I can never get it to connect. - 04-01-2011, 10:02 AM #8
He's talking about rooting your phone and installing custom ROMs. Seems to be the standard answer here. But anyway, check out this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/veri...blem-help.html
In that thread there are some links to other threads that will help you. It's a common problem with this phone, but read through the posts and I'm sure you'll get it working.
If not, @GunnerMike has some good posts on rooting and ROMs if you want to take that route.
