A question on time/date when booting

When my phone boots from a battery pull, when it first comes up it displays the time as 4:01pm and the date as Fri 12/31. Once it has completed booting, it has the correct date/time.

I'm just curious as to why it remembers the other date/time.

Its stock unrooted EA28, and I'm using Launcher Pro Plus.

Any ideas?

I have noticed something similar before, and since it only lasts for a few moments and there don't appear to be any residual problems, I don't worry about it.
