extended battery + light thin case
hi. i have looked at reviews of cases and not many of them show if they will fit the extended battery. this is a question to people who have the extended battery. i want a case that's thin and light. i got the silicone one and it's quite thick. also, it easily slips off the phone sometimes in and out of pocket. i need something that's not too thick and won't easily slip off when in and out of pocket. also, i would prefer a non gloss finish as i need that non-slip texture. any help would be great. thank you.
by the way, don't want to get those skin stickers some people put on. i want a skin/case that's removable when i want to.Motorola Razr Maxx - 01-05-2012, 10:11 AM #2
Re: extended battery + light thin case
well, in general it seems like it's hard to find what you're looking for.
The rubbery silicone cases are flexible and easy to stretch over the phone w/the extended battery and cover.
The low profile, hard cases have a tighter tolerance and won't fully snap shut..esp. at the bottom. Any case that fit the exteneded battery easily would be too lose for the std battery.
Maybe someone will make a hard shell case for the ext. battery. If you the main reason for the case in the first place is "protection", I'd be reluctant to use on that doesnt feel secure on the phone. - 01-05-2012, 11:05 AM #3

Diztronic case from Amazon. Works great with the extended battery. Never slips off.

Buy the VZ light case with kickstand. And just take the back cover off the extended battery

Re: extended battery + light thin case
I have the Incipio Double Case from Verizon and it fits my phone nicely with the extended battery. There is a small gap if the battery cover is left on, but it doesn't seem to effect how well the case fits. It doesn't add much bulk at all to the phone. The case fits perfect if the battery cover is removed, but I really didn't want to do that. Here's a shot of the gap on mine.

Re: extended battery + light thin case
Got the Case Mate Barely There in the mail today. I can now confirm it does NOT fit with the extended battery and either of the two back covers (standard or extended battery cover). The case is too loose at the bottom where the battery hump is and it probably would not stay on in the event of a fall.
For now, ive gone back to the standard battery and put on the Barely There. I love this case, its exactly what i was looking for. I normally run my phones naked, but as fragile as this phone's screen seems, i had to compromise and got a screen protector/thin case. Hopefully this will help in fall then it being bare, but if not, i also have the insurance on it. - 01-05-2012, 02:22 PM #8

Re: extended battery + light thin case
thanks all for the replies. didn't realize it was so difficult to find the right case. i loved the seido case that slips on for my incredible and was hoping for something the same. yes, i want a case that's for protection and anti-slip.
for the ones that got the diztronic, it looks similar to what i have and i think what i have is too thick. how thick is this case? also, are you guys using the screen protector? one thing i hate about putting screen protectors is that i need it to be perfectly even on every side or it will bother me to no end. >_< i also can't have ANY lint or anything trapped underneath. last time i tried a screen protector (first droid) it took me over two hours just to get it somewhat how i wanted. i ended up taking it off later anyway cause it was slightly uneven.Last edited by ulnek; 01-05-2012 at 09:18 PM.

Re: extended battery + light thin case
I bought the Incipio NGP case and it fits the extended battery perfectly, no flex, and the buttons work well. Dont know why more people dont mention this case more, but I prefer it to the Diztronic. The case is slightly see-through when in direct light but looks real nice. Comes with a screen protector and cloth, but I put an XO Skin on it.
I get lots of compliments from other GN users too.Thanked by: - 01-14-2012, 10:33 AM #12
