Non-destructive root for Verizon Samsung galaxy nexus

I have searched for a non-destructive root for my Verizon Samsung galaxy nexus and am coming up empty handed. Is this even possible anymore. I am needing to recover contacts/texts after an accidental wipe and I need root access. I am running Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Build JDQ39. Noob....please be gentle.....

Technically rooting isn't destructive. It's unlocking the bootloader that wipes everything. If you're unlocked, root away and you'll be fine. If not, I think you're out of luck. There was an exploit that allowed rooting the G-Nex without unlocking the bootloader, but Google patched it in 4.2.

You won't be able to recover that with root anyway.
